Guruvayoor Shree Krishna Temple is one of the most sacred places of worship for devotees from Kerala and other parts of India. It is located 30 km from Thrissur, a town famous for its Pooram and temples. Lord Krishna in Guruvayoor is popularly called Sri Guruvayoorappan. The Krishna idol represents the majestic form of god Vishnu and is sometimes referred to as “Bhuloka Vaikunta” the Holy abode of Lord Vishnu on earth.
The temple has two entrances – the eastern entrance or Kizhekke Nada where our hotel is located and the western entrance or Padinjare Nada. The outer part of the temple has two small temples of Bhagavathy and Lord Sastha and the inner part or Nalambalam is where the presiding deity Lord Guruvayoorappan resides.
